Lynne Shapiro graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1988.  She attended Loyola University School of Law, in Chicago, obtaining her Juris Doctor in 1991.  She began her career working for Donald A. Kurasch, Ltd., as an associate handling personal injury matters. 

Beginning in 1994, she began working for Jacobson & Sorkin, Ltd., her family’s law firm, practicing law there for the next twelve years.  At Jacobson & Sorkin, Ltd., she focused on Personal Injury litigation and Workers’ Compensation, handling numerous jury trials and all aspects of litigation.  Ms. Shapiro also enjoyed working in the corporate sector for two years at Chicagoland Beverage Company.   

Ms. Shapiro is married and a mother to three children, and in her spare time, volunteers her time as a Board Member of the Women’s Board of the Jewish United Fund and as a Trustee of the Jewish Women’s Foundation.
